Debbie prepares reports for claimants and defendants and as a single joint expert for Care, Aids and Equipment and Liability cases relating to standards of nursing and care, acceptable practice and risk management in respect of the spinal cord injured claimant.
Currently with the Spinal Injuries Association as Nurse Advocate Lead for the Southeast region, she is developing a new service providing nurse advice, support and education to people with spinal cord injuries and their treating teams.
Debbie’s knowledge of patients with spinal cord injury is extensive having held senior posts at the National Spinal Injuries Centre in Stoke Mandeville Hospital for nearly 25 years including hospital and community services.
Debbie has a BA (Hons) in Women’s health, certificates and diplomas in management studies, orthopaedic nursing, teaching and assessing in general practice and nursing patients with spinal cord injury. Debbie is a member of the Education Committee of ISCoS and led on the development of Elearnsci.org, an online tool for all professions who need a basic introduction to SCI care.
