James is an effective Senior Nursing Professional with over 20 years of clinical experience managing a range of services, having worked with individuals with a wide range of conditions, such as acquired brain and spinal injury, complex needs including amputation, orthopaedics, and multi-trauma fractures. Whilst working within specialist injury units he has been involved with multidisciplinary care planning and discharge packages and has provided individual care in the community to brain injured clients.
James brings a rigorous knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, quality standards and regulatory requirements. He is proficient in performing a variety of procedures, including tracheostomy care, venepuncture, cannulation, and catheterisation. He is adept in the completion of moving and handling assessments, nutrition (total parental nutrition, PEG feeding and nasogastric tubes), fluid requirements and monitoring, falls risk assessments, pressure sores and tissue viability, plus infection control management. Throughout his career, James has consistently driven outstanding standards of service, quality and clinical outcomes culminating in his involvement with Route Cause Analysis reports and internal NHS and private investigations.
As a TG Associate, James utilises his nursing expertise to provide accurate, balanced and evidence-based reports for both Breach of Duty and Care which includes necessary aids and equipment. He is fully trained in Civil Procedure Rules and diligently maintains his Continuing Professional Development. He continually refines and expands his clinical expertise through a variety of training and education activities.
