Portia Badza

Portia is a Senior Registered General Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber with over 18 years of experience, including significant clinical leadership.
Having extensive experience of working with brain injured clients including learning difficulties, ADHD, autism and Asperger’s, within a brain injury rehabilitation unit. This work includes liaising with families, carers and support workers to promote recovery, gain independence, improve quality of life as well as caring for those towards end of life. She supports clients with complex needs in returning to live at home, implementing multi-disciplinary care support packages; administer medications and provide nursing care in adherence with NMC guidelines as well as develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, including relevant risk assessments. Portia is adept at managing medical and challenging behaviours and evaluates continuing care funding based on evolving care requirements.
Throughout her career, Portia has analysed nursing practice to identify opportunities to improve care standards and outcomes and initiated relevant change. Portia also brings strong expertise in epilepsy management, cannulation, diabetes care, dysphagia, PEG feeding, ILS, tissue viability, falls, balance, and blood born viruses.
As a TG Associate, Portia utilises her wealth of clinical expertise to provide authoritative, objective and evidence-based care, aids and equipment and liability reports for both claimant and defendant. She is fully trained in Civil Procedure Rules, including revisions as they arise, and maintains her continuing professional development through a range of training activities.
