Sue Wynne MSc MA BA (Hons) FRSPH RGN QN
Susan is an accomplished senior nurse and midwife with over four decades of experience, including senior management. Having worked within fields such as infection prevention and control, health protection, medical device management and clinical risk management. She is a recognised leader in her respective fields and has also received the Queens Nurse Title for improving the quality and safety of patients in the community and for implementation of a clinical pathway in 2012.
Demonstrating rigorous midwifery knowledge, having practised from 1986 to 2003 including pre and post operative care, maternity intervention, overseeing all elements of midwifery, including the provision of antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care across the community and in clinical settings. Susan also has experience of theatre intervention, high dependency units, birth centres and labour ward settings.
Susan has reported on lapses or breaches of care within clinical settings and her extended knowledge has provided clinical advice and support for community nursing staff and standards of care delivered in nursing and residential care homes.
Susan has been academically active throughout her career having held a variety of roles in local government, including COVID response and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) support for winter pressures, outbreak management, training for adult social care staff, including medical device management (with service and maintenance), physiotherapy, and policy writing.
As a TG Associate, Susan prepares Liability and Short Form reports relating to failure to refer, wound care and pressure sores, falls, use of bed rails, midwifery practice, infection control, cannulation, sepsis, for claimant and defendants.
