- Aaron has more than 13 years’ experience in the ambulance service, 8 of these as a Registered Paramedic. He has spent the last 3 years as a Specialist Paramedic/Advanced Paramedic Practitioner working in a variety of settings including; the emergency operations centre, emergency response vehicles (999 response), urgent care centres, walk-in centres, primary care and emergency departments. He is also proficient in the remote assessment and management of a wide range presentations, having worked in the National Clinical Assessment Service (triage).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), and being an active member of the Royal College of Paramedics, Aaron is able to provide insightful reports, commenting on standards of care expected within his scope of practice. This includes his role as an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner where has an in depth understanding of the advanced scope of practice, and is proficient in autonomous clinical practice, managing complete episode of care for those with chronic illness and those with acute undifferentiated presentations, including both adults and children. This includes the prescribing of medications and ordering and interpreting a wide range of diagnostic tests. Aaron is also skilled in performing home assessments for patients with acute and chronic illnesses and a wide range of injuries and disabilities.
- Aaron has significant experience in primary response to medical emergencies including, major trauma, cardiac arrest, critically ill adults and children, obstetric emergencies, including active labour; and people experiencing acute mental health crisis. He is proficient in the assessment and management of conditions including; musculoskeletal injuries, traumatic head injuries, spinal injuries, chest and abdominal trauma, gunshot wounds and injuries inflicted by weapons. He also has extensive experience in managing critically unwell individuals experiencing acute asthma, shortness of breath, cardiac chest pain, diabetic emergencies, sepsis and cerebral vascular accident.
- Over his career, Aaron has developed a wide range of clinical skills which include; airway management, intubation, assisted ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, cannulation, medicines administration, diabetes monitoring, defibrillation, electrocardiography, major wound and extensive burns management. In his current role, Aaron is part of the clinical leadership team and is responsible for the oversight, supervision and development of a large team of Paramedics.
