- Daniel has over 6 years’ experience as a Paramedic, with the last 2 years spent practising as a Specialist Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an active member of the Royal College of Paramedics, Daniel is well placed to provide informed opinion on the standards of care expected within his scope of practice. He has extensive experience as a Specialist Paramedic working across frontline ambulance services, walk-in centres, general practice and minor injury units; assessing and managing a broad range of urgent and emergency presentations. His clinical experience includes major trauma, cardiac arrest, critically ill adults and children, obstetric emergencies including active labour, acute mental health crisis, and the assessment and treatment of minor illness and injury in primary and urgent care settings.
- Daniel is proficient in the assessment and management of a broad range of urgent and emergency conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, soft tissue injuries, fractures and dislocations, traumatic head injuries, spinal injuries, chest and abdominal trauma, wounds, burns, and injuries inflicted by weapons. He also has significant experience in the management of critically unwell patients presenting with acute asthma, shortness of breath, cardiac chest pain, cardiac arrest, diabetic emergencies, sepsis, cerebrovascular accident, acute mental health crisis, and a wide range of cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal, neurological and urological conditions encountered in frontline, urgent care and primary care settings.
- Over his career, Daniel has developed a wide range of clinical skills, including airway management, intubation, assisted ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, cannulation, catheterisation, medicines administration, independent and supplementary prescribing, electrocardiography, blood glucose monitoring, wound care, advanced wound management, suturing, staple wound closure, burns management, fracture stabilisation, reduction of limb fractures and dislocations, administration of nerve blocks, and the treatment of minor injuries and minor illness in both adults and children.
- As a Specialist Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner, Daniel has advanced his knowledge and skills which enable to work across multiple settings including emergency response, urgent community response, urgent care centres and general practice. He is an independent and supplementary prescriber and is proficient in prescribing medications for a wide range of clinical conditions.
I am a HCPC registered Paramedic and a member of The Royal College of Paramedics, with over 6 years as a registered Paramedic. Previously, I had a 15 year service in the British Army as a Combat Medical Technician and then attended University whilst serving to become a Combat Paramedic. I was deployed on three overseas operational tours and dozens of live firing exercises worldwide, where I cared for UK and NATO service personnel as well as local civilians and enemy combatants,
After leaving the military, I aimed to specialise in my practice with the goal to become an advanced clinical practitioner.
I work in a wide variety of clinical roles, including primary care, urgent care, minor injuries, and minor illness.
Originally from Nottingham, I now settle in North Yorkshire, with my three children and my wife, who is an officer in the UK armed forces.
