I have had a varied nursing career to date enjoying both acute and community based nursing. The opportunity to start a care company from scratch and develop it into an award winning care provider in the South West and providing high quality care to clients was a challenging yet rewarding chapter and led to great professional development in the care industry and business management.

Outside of work I volunteer for a children’s charity called Dreamflight. I have a nursing and lead role in our regional team supporting a team of medical and non medical volunteers to provide care and support with a wide scope of medical conditions and disabilities to have the holiday of a lifetime, away from parents, in the theme parks of Orlando, Florida.

Over the last few years I have welcomed a little girl into my life via early permanence adoption. A complex and emotional process that has required immense reliance and uncertainty that for use has had a positive experience but also gave me first hand experience of trusting of the safeguarding and legal process to make the challenging decisions involved with early permanence and adoption.
